A. BREAKTHROUGH TECHNOLOGIES AND FEATURES
1. ADVANCED IMAGE-BASED DIAGNOSTICS WITH ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE – AI
- MOTOSCAN PHONE V3.5 expands diagnostic capabilities from electronic data analysis to real-world image analysis during repair and troubleshooting.
- Capture images directly using the tablet camera or load existing images for the AI assistant to analyze and support diagnostic procedures.
- Supports image recognition of components, electrical connectors, wiring, spark plugs, sensors, burnt or damaged parts, and other abnormal conditions.
- The AI assistant can analyze symptoms, suggest possible causes, and provide voice-guided inspection procedures.
- Updated specialized technical knowledge libraries and enhanced AI training improve the system's ability to understand motorcycle-specific technical contexts.
- Optimized hands-free voice control across most application interfaces, except the OnTop window and vehicle name/model selection areas.
- This is an important advancement that enables technicians to combine diagnostic data, real-world images, technical knowledge, and AI reasoning capabilities on a single device.
2. ROAD TEST – COMPREHENSIVE VEHICLE PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT
(This function is currently available for trial use and will continue to be developed and updated.)
ROAD TEST is designed to provide an overall assessment of vehicle operating condition while generating quantitative data for comparison before and after repair.
- The system supports analysis of multiple factors, including:
- Engine and FI electronic fuel injection system.
- Power and torque.
- Acceleration and load response.
- Mechanical, hydraulic, clutch, and drivetrain systems.
- Fuel consumption.
- Condition of the air filter, intake system, exhaust system, and combustion chamber.
- Signs of overall vehicle performance degradation.
This function is designed to provide an assessment similar to a Dyno Test, but uses dynamic analysis algorithms and engine operating-state inference. The vehicle can be tested under actual road conditions or quickly evaluated while stationary in the workshop.
3. YAMAHA YECVT/TCU SYSTEM DIAGNOSTICS
MOTOSCAN PHONE V3.5 adds diagnostic capabilities for Yamaha's electronically controlled continuously variable transmission system – YECVT. Unlike conventional CVT systems, which use roller weights and centrifugal force to automatically vary the transmission ratio, YECVT uses:
- An electric motor to control the primary pulley position.
- A pulley position sensor.
- A Transmission Control Unit (TCU).
- Throttle position, vehicle speed, engine speed, and operating-condition signals.
- The TCU continuously receives input signals, calculates the appropriate transmission ratio, and controls the electric motor to move the pulley sheave. This allows the system to actively control engine speed and transmission ratio according to different operating conditions.
- Therefore, YECVT repair cannot rely solely on conventional CVT mechanical experience. It requires a combination of electronic diagnostics, data analysis, actuator inspection, sensor testing, and TCU operation verification.
B. NEW VEHICLE AND DATA UPDATES THROUGH 2026
